We are a privacy-focused startup, backed by legal professionals. We saw that law firms were frustrated with existing legal-specific AI tools. Too often, these tools suffered from a lack of transparency, high prices, low customizability, and poor user-interfaces, performance, and speed. Worse still, many legal AI tools lagged far behind the latest AI innovations.

At the same time, there was immense friction with general AI tools that were not adapted for law firms. Lawyers faced questionable client-confidentiality practices and devastating hallucinations—sometimes leading to court sanctions in the most severe cases. These general models weren't trained on relevant, up-to-date case law and statutes. They failed to understand legal reasoning or develop creative reasoning, and ultimately failed to fit within lawyers' existing workflows.
